Abstract

EFFECT OF CLERODENDRUM PHILIPPINUM LEAF EXTRACT ON RATS INDUCED WITH HYPERLIPIDEMIA

ABSTRACT

Objective: The aim of the present study is to Effect of Clerodendrum Philippinum Leaf Extract on rats induced with hyperlipidemia. Method: Screening of antihyperlipidemia was done by using clerodendrum leaves. The leaf extract used for antihyperlipidemic activity at dose of 200mg/kg, 400mg/kg. Hyperlipidemia was administered in experimental animals using TritonX-100 by intraperitoneal administration at the dose of 100mg/kg. On 8th day blood was withdrawn through retro-orbital puncture, and evaluated estimation of lipid profiles.
