CASE REPORT ON EPIGASTRIC PAIN CAUSED BY DICLOFENAC IN OSTEOARTHRITIC PATIENT

ABSTRACT
Osteoarthritis(OA) which is also known as osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease (DJD), is a progressive disorder of the joints caused by gradual loss of cartilage and resulting in the development of bony spurs and cysts at the margins of the joints. The name osteoarthritis comes from three Greek words meaning bone, joint, and inflammation. A Patient of 43years/F was admitted with a complaint of left knee Osteoarthritis and having Epigastric pain, indigestion & bloating. She was on medication for Osteoarthritis (DICLOFENAC 500mg, RABEPRAZOLE 20mg+ DOMPIRIDONE 20mg,
GABAPENTINE 300 mg) since 19days. Symptoms of indigestion & bloating were observed and it was found to be due to use of DICLOFENAC. With the advice of the physician that medication was withdrawn and was advised to use topical medication (relieve gel).
