AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF SKIN DISEASE W.S.R TO EXCESSIVE USE OF COSMETICS

ABSTRACT

The commonest skin disorder that can arise from the use of cosmetics. Cosmetics are substances or products used to enhance or alter the appearance or fragrance of the body many cosmetics are designed for use of applying to the face and hair. They are generally mixture of chemical compound have about 7000 different ingredients that they allow to use of skin care products around 1000 unknown to be harmful and another 900 known to cause cancer. Daily used cosmetics like talc powder, cream, shampoo, perfumes, lipstics etc. Contains harmful parabens, lead, talc, formaldehydes which causes skin disease, hair fall. Ayurvedic products doesn’t involve toxic material, Ayurveda doctors believe that toxic materials inside our body make a person succeptible to disease and shodhan is best therapeutic intervention. Charak samhita classified cosmetics drug as varnya, kushthaghna, kandughna, udardprashamana etc. Many Alepam (poultice) are described in sushrut samhita, ashtang hrudaya. some medicinal plants like Kumari, Sariva, Amalaki, Manjishtha etc. It has been prescribed for beauty of skin, hair. diet has a special role to improve and maintain beauty.
