The world health organization (WHO) defines pharmacovigilance as the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug related problems. Pharmacovigilance is concerned with the post marketing surveillance of medicines and the use of information generated for education and effective drug regulation as the world wide movement for improvement of patient safety gains Momentum the subject of drug safety becomes even more prominent. Pharmacovigilance is the science dedicated to reduce the risk of drug-related harms to patient.
