NASYA KARMA TOWARDS THE MANAGEMENT OF CERVICAL SPONDYLOSIS: A LITERARY REVIEW

ABSTRACT Nasya therapy is one the karma amongst the various approaches of panchkarma which involve use of herbal oils and ghrits into the nostrils. The nasal route is gateway to the upper body parts therefore this therapy offer relief in diseases related to head region. The therapy not only cleanses and opens shrotas but also improves oxygenation and circulation process thus boosts normal functioning of upper body parts; head and neck. The therapy helps to remove imbalanced doshas through the nasal openings. The Nasya karma used in diseases of mouth, nose, ear, eye and head; sinus congestion, hair fall, untimely greying of hair, migraine and cervical spondylosis, etc. This article emphasized role of Nasya therapy towards the management of cervical spondylosis based on literature study.
