Abstract

ANALYTICAL METHODOLOGIES FOR DETERMINATION OF VALSARTAN: AN OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT

Valsartan (VAL) is a type I angiotensin ii receptor antagonist. It is official in United States pharmacopeia. This article reviews the analytical methods for quantitative estimation of valsartan in various pharmaceutical formulations. We had reviewed analytical methods published so far estimation of valsartan in pharmaceutical formulations mainly from 2000-2017. the most commonly adopted method for determination of valsartan is UV-visible spectrophotometry. there were various other methods reported via reverse phase HPLC, UPLC, HPLC-MS.
