Abstract

INVESTIGATION ON TAXIM-OF AND VANADIUM (V )

ABSTRACT

A simple and sensitive method was developed for Analytical determination of Taxim-of and vanadium(v) in pharmaceutical formulation is carried and based on a colour reaction between the two. vanadium(v) forms yellow coloured complex with Taxim-of in a buffer of pH – 3. This method can be conveniently used for the determination of vanadium(v) and Taxim-of, in the ranges of vanadium(v) 0.636 – 4.45 μg/ml and Taxim-of in the range of 1 to 6 mg/ml. The method is successfully applied for the determination of Taxim-of and vanadium(v) in pharmaceutical formulation. Effect of various parameters, pH, metal ion concentration, drug concentration of solutions is studied. The optimum condition are established for the determination of vanadium(v) and the drug.
