In Charak Sutrasthana 1/46 Acharya Charak said that the unique contribution of Ayurveda to the living being in general and human being in particular is its ultimate understanding of the living being (Purusa) in its totality as conglomeration of the Satva (mind), Atma (spirit) and Panchmahabhutatmaka Sarir (Body).
