CLINICAL EFFICACY OF RASONA KSHEER IN THE MANAGEMENT OF GRUDHRASI (SCIATICA)

ABSTRACT

“Grudhrasi” the word itself describes about the disease i.e. Grudhra (Vulture). There are no as such drugs available for the treatmnt of Grudhrasi (sciatica). Only analgesic in allopathic line of treatment is used to subside the pain. According to Ayurveda grudhrasi is a nanatmaj vactavyadhi in which patient feel pain primarily in sphik (Law Back) Pradesh which later radiates down to Kati (lumber), posterior aspect of uru (Thigh), Janu (Knee), Jangha and Pada (foot). It can be correlated with sciatica of Modern Science. But in Ayurvedic line of treatment many drugs and procedures are mentioned in ancient texts which are followed by our experts. From charak samhita a drug “Rasona ksheer” is used in Grudhrasi (Sciatica), which has dramatically results on patient. To prove that drug is efficient for treatment of Grudhrasi (Sciatica) small trial for a short time (30 day‟s), 30 patients were treatment with Rasona ksheer for 30 days. Results obtained were analysed for statistical significance which shows Rasona ksheer is effective in reliefing in Sign‟s and symptoms of Grudhrasi Vyadhi. This will be helpful for physician‟s in treating the diseases.
