Abstract

A SIMPLIFIED CADOGEN’S APPROACH TO SYNTHESIS OF NEW THIOPHENYL AND PYRAZOLYL INDAZOLES

ABSTRACT

Thiophene and pyrazol Schiff base have been prepared from the corresponding amines by reaction with 2-nitro benzaldehydes. These nitro compounds undergo de-oxygenative cyclization to give indazoles via nitrenes, on heating with triethylphosphite in acetonitrile. Thiophene and pyrazolyl indazoles have also been synthesized in a one pot reaction.

Keywords: Thiophene and pyrazolyl indazoles, one-pot synthesis, simplified cadogan's synthesis de-oxigenative cyclisation.
