ABSTRACT

Insect bite reactions are commonly seen in clinical practice. Many herbal plants are isolated and analyzed for their medicinal properties and healing components in recent days. Many formulations for Keeta Visha (insect bite & stings) are mentioned in classics. Tagaradi Yoga is such herbal formulation for keeta visha mentioned in Astanga Sangraha which can be potentially used in Hymenoptera venoms such as honeybees, wasps, hornets bites. Tagaradi Yoga was subjected below parameters for the qualitative evaluation tests as per Ayurvedic science and analytical parameters such as Phytochemical, Physico-Chemical analysis, General powder characteristics like Bulk density, Tapped density, Angle of repose & Fluorescence Analysis. Data suggests that Tagaradi Yoga contain Steroids, Saponins, Flavonoids, Alkaloids, Tannins etc. & multi-mineral compound, elements like Iron, Chloride, sulphate. The polyherbal formulation needs science-based approach toward manufacturing process and chemical standardization. Clinical evaluations definitely is needed for further acceptance.
