PHYSIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF ALKYLCOUMARIN AND SYNTHESIS OF SOME 2H-THIOPYRANO[3,2-C][1]-9-METHYL-BENZOPYRAN-5-ONES.
S. K. Ghosh*
ABSTRACT Biological importance of alkylcoumarin is quite familiar to us. Considering different physiological role of alkylcoumarin and their derivatives 6-methyl-4-Propargylthio[1] benzopyran-2-ones 5a-d were heated in chlorobenzene to yield 2H-thiopyrano[3,2-c][1]-9-methyl-benzopyran-5-ones with high yield. Sulfides, 5a-d were prepared using phase-transfer catalysed process under very mild condition. Keywords: Mercaptocoumarin, 6-methyl- 4-hydroxycoumarin, Physiological activities, Sigmatropic rearrangement, Phase-transfer catalysed alkylation. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
