Abstract

ENGINEERING SOLUTIONS FOR PHARMACEUTICAL PROCESSING – POWDER HANDLING

ABSTRACT

In industry many areas require proper powder handling. Powders are having different flow properties due to different natures of powder like cohesiveness, fiber, low melting nature, stickiness, elasticity. These properties create various problems in conveying and handling of powders. Sometimes it causes static charge generation due to dust formation which is hazardous. To solve these problems different types of equipmentlike conveying systems, HVAC Systems, Dust Collectors can be used and a layout having ‘U’ directional flow of powder can be used which is known as Hub layout.
