EFFECT OF VIDANGADI TAILA AS ANUVASAN BASTI IN VATIKA ARSHA

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study is to assess clinically the effect of “Vidangadi Taila Anuvasana Basti‟‟in the management of Vatika Arsha disease. Though Anuvasana Basti is contraindicated in Arsha Vyadhi, it is especially advised in condition of hard stool (Gadhvarchasva Avastha) in Vatika Arsha and Shushaska Avastha of Arsha (Ch. Chi.14). Single blind randomized control study was done for which 30 patients were selected. Patients with Vatika Arsha having only 1st and 2nd degree internal Hemorrhoids and External Hemorrhoids without Fissures were considered. Patients having bleeding with 3rd and 4th degree internal Hemorrhoids were excluded. Selected Patients were administered Anuvasana in Matra Basti form i.e. 60 ml of Vidangadi Tail (Ref. Ch. Si. 4/18-24) for 5 Days. Follow up was taken on 5th day of Basti administration and on 15th, 30th day after last Anuvasana Basti.
