Abstract

A COMPARATIVE CLINICAL STUDY OF JALADHARA & TAILDHARA ON STRESS MANAGEMENT W.S.R TO MAANAS PAREEKSHA BHAVA EVALUATION

Dr. Tank Neha Girishkumar*

ABSTRACT

Stress, the largest killer of man today needs an urgent attention. In Ayurved there is no direct reference of stress but, it can be studied under various conditions arising due to vitiation of Mana(Mind). The main Dosha(bio humor) involved is Vaata as it is main controller of mind. Total 137 patients having symptoms of stress were registered and were randomly divided into 3 groups viz: Group A- Jaladhara for 7days along with Mansyadi Kwatha(decoction) for 30days; Group BTailadhara with sesame oil for 7 days along with Mansyadi Kwatha for 30days; Group C - only Mansyadi Kwatha for 30days. The main aims and objectives of the study are: 1) To study the comparative effect of Jaladhara and Tailadhara in the management of stress. 2) To study the comparative effect of Jaladhara and Tailadhara on Maanas Pareeksha Bhava(various psychiatric emotions). Assessment was done on the basis of relief in the subjective & objective signs & symptoms of stress and on Maanas Pareeksha Bhava(various psychiatric emotions). The data were analysed statistically. It was observed that symptoms like insomnia, anxiety etc were almost relieved in Shirodhara group. In Maanas Bhava statistically results of Shirodhara group are highly significant. Taildhara provided better relief in the symptoms of stress & on Maanas Bhava compared to Jaladhara.
