Abstract

ESTIMATION OF NITROGEN MINERALIZATION BY NITRIFYING BACTERIAL ISOLATES BtRs8 AND NBtRs2 FROM BT AND NBT RHIZHOSPHERIC SOIL OF COTTON PLANT BY USING DIFFERENT NITROGEN SOURCES

ABSTRACT

The plant microbe interaction in the rhizosphere is one of the major factors regulating the health and growth of plants. Soil bacteria living in the rhizosphere can enhance plant growth by several mechanisms like nitrification, solubilization of phosphates. These Soil bacteria are important in maintaining a satisfactory biological balance in the soil. The nitrogen is the key element of the biogeochemical cycle that describes the transformation of nitrogen and nitrogen containing compounds in nature. Present research were carried out to observe the pair wise difference of nitrogen sources with respect to the incubation time for Bacillus thuringenisis rhizospheric soil of cotton isolate (BtRs8) and non Bacillus thuringenisis rhizospheric soil of cotton (NBtRs2) isolates for mineralization of Nitrogen to Nitrites and Nitrates. Nitrite production by Bt and NBt isolates was observed by incubating upto nine days, whereas for nitrate production by Bt and NBt isolates were incubated up to fourteen days. By using different Nitrogen sources on nitrification was observed.
