Abstract

SYNTHESIS OF SOME PARACETAMOL CONTENING 2-OXOAZETIDINE DERIVATIVES AND THEIR ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY

ABSTRACT

4-acetamidophenoxyacetylhydrazide is synthesized from peracetamol which on reaction with various aldehyde gives Schiff bases. Schiff bases treated with chloroacetylchloride to produce2-oxo- azetidine derivatives. The entire synthesized compound characterized by physical and analytical data. Antimicrobial activity of synthesized compounds evaluated by cup-plate method.
