DESIGN AND IN-VITRO EVALUATION OF FLUTICASONE- LOADED TRANSFEROSOMAL VESICLES FOR ENHANCED TOPICAL DELIVERY
Sundaram Upadhyay*, Hemant Agrawal, Naveen Gupta
ABSTRACT The present investigation focused on the design and in-vitro evaluation of Fluticasone-loaded transferosomal vesicles for enhanced topical delivery with the objective of improving drug permeation, stability, controlled release, and therapeutic efficacy. Pre-formulation studies of Fluticasone were carried out to evaluate its physicochemical properties, including organoleptic characteristics, melting point, pH, solubility, λ max determination, calibration curve, and FTIR studies. The drug was found to be white to pale yellow in color, crystalline in nature, and exhibited satisfactory physicochemical properties suitable for topical formulation development. Fluticasone-loaded transferosomes were prepared by the reverse phase evaporation method using soya lecithin, cholesterol, Tween 80, and sodium deoxycholate. The prepared formulations were evaluated for vesicle size, zeta potential, surface morphology, entrapment efficiency, in-vitro drug release, and stability studies. Keywords: Fluticasone; Transferosomes; Topical drug delivery; Reverse phase evaporation method; Vesicle size; Zeta potential; Entrapment efficiency; SEM analysis; Stability study.
