ABSTRACT Herbal bath bombs represent a significant segment of the cosmetic and personal care industry, combining essential botanical extracts with chemical agents to provide aromatherapeutic and skincare benefits. This review synthesises current knowledge on herbal bath bomb composition, therapeutic applications, safety profiles, and market trends. Bath bombs traditionally comprise sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, essential oils, and various herbal ingredients including dried flowers, plant extracts, and minerals. The present review examines the historical development of bath bombs, the pharmacological properties of commonly used herbal ingredients, their dermatological effects, manufacturing processes, regulatory frameworks, and potential future applications. Current research demonstrates that herbal bath products can provide relaxation, skin conditioning, andaromatic benefits, though evidence for specific therapeutic claims requires further investigation. This article provides a comprehensive overview synthesising current literature and research findings to establish a knowledge base for consumers, manufacturers, and healthcare professionals regarding the efficacy and safety of herbal bath bomb products.
