EVALUATION OF ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTICITY BY USING FOUR HERBAL MEDICINAL PLANTS

ABSTRACT

Anti-inflammatory medications might cause negative effects. The use of medicinal plants as anti-inflammatory medicines over the years has been the main topic of scientific studies. In the current study, a herbal preparation (HP-4 of 100 mg/10ml methanol concentration) was made using an 80% alcoholic extract of the leaves of Aloe vera, Bacopa monnieri, Moringa oleifera, and Zingiber officinale. To investigate the in-vitro anti-inflammatory effects of hypotonic solution-induced haemolysis on RBC membrane stabilisation and effect of inhibition ozzf protein denaturation activity, different doses of HP-4 were utilised. As a reference drug, acetylsalicylic acid had equivalent anti-inflammatory effect compared to the control sample, which included no medication. It was discovered that HP-4 inhibits protein denaturation activity and stabilises RBC membranes in a dose-dependent manner.
