ASSESSMENT OF KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE, AND PRACTICE TOWARDS PHARMACOVIGILANCE BETWEEN HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTS: A CROSS-SECTIONAL OBSERVATIONAL STUDY

ABSTRACT

Pharmacovigilance plays a vital role in ensuring patient safety through the monitoring and reporting of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). This cross-sectional observational study aimed to compare the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) regarding pharmacovigilance among undergraduate students of Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, and Occupational Therapy at JKKM Institution. A structured questionnaire was administered to 250 students from the second year onwards over a three-month period. The study evaluated participants' awareness of pharmacovigilance, perceptions toward ADR reporting, and reporting practices. The findings are expected to identify differences in KAP among the three disciplines and highlight areas requiring educational intervention. Strengthening pharmacovigilance education can improve ADR reporting behavior and promote safer medication practices among future healthcare professionals.
