Abstract

HR-LCMS BASED PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS LEAF EXTRACT OF CAESALPINIA CRISTA (L.)

ABSTRACT

Caesalpinia crista L. Is a medicinal plant. It is commonly known as Sagargoti in Marathi and Karanjava or Karanju in Hindi. It belongs to the family Fabaceae. This plant is found throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of Southeast Asia, the Western Pacific, and across the hotter parts of India. It is widely employed across the African and Asian continents for treatment of various kinds of diseases and disorders like Diabetes, Malaria Fever, Abdominal Pain, Cystic Fibrosis, Leucorrhea, Rheumatoid Arthritis. The present study aimed to investigate the presence of phytochemicals of Caesalpinia crista L leaves. We analyzed major chemical constituents that are present in Ethanol extract of leaves through HR-LCMS techniques. Include Lysyl-Lysine, Etonogestrel, Istamycin C0, Naltrindole, Plantaricin BN, Hydroxyprolyl-Asparagine, Nitrilacarb, Pravastatin, Grossamide, Somniferine,Somniferine, Dipiperamide A etc. Ethanol extract of selected material was a screen for the presence of different secondary metabolites, it revealed the existence of alkaloids, steroids, phytosterol, tannin, flavonoids, and glycosides. The findings of the present study provided evidence that crude organic solvent extracts of Caesalpinia crista L. contain medicinally important bioactive compounds, which justifies their use in traditional medicines for the treatment of various kinds of diseases.
