Abstract

PENTALINON LUTEUM A DETAILED PHARMACOLOGICAL APPROACH

Vaibhav Singh, Mrs. Yasmin Bano, Ms. Kanchan Gupta*

ABSTRACT

The data were collected from Current Contents and Scientific Journals, which included in publications. Pentalinon luteum have anti-inflammatory activity along with their phytochemical constituents and also mention the family, leaf of platinon leutium play a significant role in human health in relation to the prevention and treatment of inflammatory conditions. Herbal medicines are popular among the public and improvements in their formulation have resulted in a new generation of phytomedicines that are more potent than before. This paper highlights on the phytochemical constituents of anti-inflammatory activity of platinon leutium plant used for treating inflammatory disorders and recent developments in various herbal species. The review gives a comprehensive overview of the phytochemical constituents of medicinal plants with anti-inflammatory potential. This review also discusses the extraction methods, routes of administration, and safety profile reported in preclinical investigations. Although the available findings are encouraging, most evidence is derived from in vitro experiments and animal models, with limited clinical validation in humans. Furthermore, challenges such as variability in phytochemical composition, lack of standardized extracts, insufficient pharmacokinetic and toxicological data, and the absence of large-scale clinical trials remain significant barriers to therapeutic development. Overall, P. luteum represents a promising medicinal plant with broad pharmacological potential. Future research should focus on standardization, detailed mechanistic studies, and well-designed clinical trials to establish its efficacy, safety, and therapeutic value for the development of evidence-based phytopharmaceutical Overall, Pentalinon luteum represents a promising but underexplored medicinal plant that may serve as a valuable source of novel bioactive compounds for the development of safe and effective herbal therapeutics for inflammatory and infectious diseases.
