A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF JYOTISHMATYADI KALKA ORALLY WITH PHALAGHRITA UTTARABASTI AND JYOTISHMATYADI KALKA IN VIPHALA ARTHAVA W.R.T ANOVULATION

ABSTRACT

Infertility is worldwide reproductive health challenge “Na hi maturvina garbhotpatti syati” indicates importance of female in continuation of generation. The WHO approximation that 60-80 million couples worldwide currently suffer from infertility.Among many cause of female infertility the anovulation is seen very commonly and which end up with PCOS condition. Majority of these cases are treated by either hormonal therapy or surgical intervention. So this study will be emphasize on careful holistic approach in management of Viphala Arthava i.e., anovulatory cycles to induce ovulation. The drug Jyotishmati Kalka indicated by Bhavaprakasha. acts on Nastarthava by action on the basis of Rasa, Guna, Veerya, Vipaka and the basis of Karma and the basis of active principles like Tannins, Catechin, Epicatechin, Alkolides, Asryle aldihyde, C-glycoside, B-asrone, Resveratrol oligomers.Hence Non-Hormonal and safer method has been selected. Along With oral medication Uttarabasti has been selected. As per Acharya Sushruta, Uttara Basti is very beneficial in all types of Vandyatva .So it is administered through Uttaramarga i.e Garbhashayagata Uttarabasti as it is ideal to correct the HPO axis.
