ABSTRACT Diabetes Mellitus (DM) has become the leading health concern worldwide over the last few decades. However, despite improvements in our knowledge of the pathogenesis of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and the creation of novel therapeutic approaches, the way T2DM patients are now managed is still not ideal. For patients with high baseline glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), initial monotherapy is often insufficient. As a result, initial combination therapy has become a viable alternative.
