ABSTRACT The Jalpakalpataru commentary by Kaviraja Gangadhara Roy is among the most analytically significant works on Charaka Samhita. This literary and analytical study critically evaluates the distinctive features of the Jalpakalpataru commentary on Trimarmiya Siddhi Adhyaya (Chapter 9) of Siddhisthana, systematically comparing it with Chakrapani Datta's Ayurveda Dipika. The study employed verse-by-verse textual analysis, expert validation using a Likert scale, and Spearman's rank correlation for statistical assessment. Key findings reveal that Gangadhara adopted a broader anatomical interpretation of Skandha to include Shira, Griva, and Antaradhi, reflecting an integrative functional understanding of Marma anatomy. His commentary introduces clinically significant Pathabheda (textual variations) across multiple verses, including therapeutically contrasting interpretations in Aptantraka Roga management, where he advocates Tikshna Shodhana Basti unlike Chakrapani's conservative approach. In Uttarabasti procedures, Gangadhara offers individualized anatomical calibration of the instrument and modified dosage recommendations. He also demonstrates vivid clinical descriptions, flexible drug identification, and Dosha-specific therapeutic differentiation in Shiroroga and Timira management. Expert validation showed consistently high agreement scores (80–87%), reinforcing the scholarly relevance of the findings. The study concludes that Jalpakalpataru serves as an important intellectual bridge between classical Ayurvedic doctrine and evolving therapeutic practice, significantly enriching the understanding of Trimarmiya Siddhi Adhyaya. Keywords: Trimarmiya, Antaradhi, Uttarabasti, Shiroroga. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
