Priyanka Swami*, Vibha Chaudhary, Aman Bishnoi, Mohammed Bilal, Narendar Bhojak, Raja Ram
ABSTRACT Schiff bases are fascinating compounds formed when carbonyl and amino compounds undergo condensation. These versatile molecules have found their applications into numerous industries and are recognized for their impressive range of biological activities. The synthesis of new Schiff base-derived compounds remains of interest due to increasing problem of antibiotic resistance in clinical practice. In recent years, application of Schiff bases derived from benzaldehyde have become very fascinating to researchers as it have a great potential as Antibacterial, Antimalarial, Ant cancerous, Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory agent. Complexing with transition metals increases the biological effectiveness of the Schiff ligands. This review brings key studies from past few years, highlighting the antibacterial properties of Schiff base derived from benzaldehyde and their transition metal complexes. Keywords: Transition metal complex, Schiff base, Antibacterial activity, Benzaldehyde. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
