NEUROINFLAMMATION IN DEPRESSION: ROLE OF CYTOKINES AND EMERGING THERAPEUTIC TARGETS

ABSTRACT Depression is the type of mental disorder also considered as a significant psychiatric illnesses for which there are some other kind of mechanisms that play as well as Disrupted neurochemical signaling. Further activation of immune pathways and microglial may exacerbate depressive symptoms. The present review seeks to emphasize of cytokines mediated neuroinflammation in depression and emerging new therapeutic targets. Knowledge of these mechanisms could help inform the design of more personalized, successful treatments for depression.
