EXPLORING DRUG-BASED SOLUTIONS FOR ENHANCED SKELETAL MUSCLE REGENERATION: A REVIEW
Ms. Athiramol P. V., *Dr. N Venkateswaramurthy Ph D
ABSTRACT Musculoskeletal injuries represent a major global public health problem and contributes significantly to the burden of disability and suffering. Skeletal muscle regeneration is a complicated process that relies on a variety of cell types, signalling compounds, morphological cues, and physicochemical characteristics to be effective, and various techniques for skeletal muscle tissue engineering have been developed during the past few decades to support muscle repair and regeneration. But in the context of drugs, only a few number of medications are being developed particularly to speed up the recovery of skeletal muscle function after an injury. Minimizing the severity of muscle trauma, speed up muscle recovery, and restore muscular function through the use of medications would help to lower the financial burden of health care costs and ease the suffering and hardship of afflicted people. The incorporation of medications in skeletal muscle regeneration allows for focused therapies that can address certain factors influencing the ability of muscle tissue to regenerate. They may boost the effectiveness and rapidity of the regenerative process, enhance functional outcomes, and encourage optimum healing in a variety of ailments and crashes. This review presents a status update on some newly rising medications with therapeutic potential for treating muscle damage, including those that might lessen damage or boost regeneration and enhancing various muscle regenerating factors.
