ABSTRACT Introduction: Rasayana Tantra, an important branch of Ayurveda, focuses on longevity, rejuvenation, and enhancement of overall health through a multidimensional approach. Although classical texts describe its wide applications, the modality-based functional differences of Rasayana therapies remain inadequately explored. Methods: This study is a qualitative analytical review based on classical Ayurvedic literature, primarily Charaka Samhita with Chakrapani commentary. Relevant classical and contemporary sources were systematically analyzed. A comparative framework was applied based on environmental regulation, metabolic preparation (Shodhana), therapeutic intensity, and regenerative outcomes. Results: The analysis reveals that Rasayana functions as a systemic regulator of Dhatu, promoting nourishment, circulation, and maintenance of tissue integrity. Two principal modalities were identified: Kutipraveshika Rasayana and Vatatapika Rasayana. Kutipraveshika Rasayana, characterized by a controlled environment, prior Shodhana, and strict regimen, demonstrates greater potential for deep Dhatu regeneration and metabolic stability. In contrast, Vatatapika Rasayana, administered under natural environmental exposure, supports gradual improvement, maintenance of tissue integrity, and adaptive physiological responses. These findings indicate that environmental control and metabolic preparation significantly influence the depth and efficacy of Rasayana therapy. Discussion: The findings suggest that Rasayana exhibits modality-dependent outcomes, where controlled conditions favor regenerative processes while natural exposure promotes adaptive and preventive responses. This aligns with modern concepts of regenerative medicine and stress–health relationships, emphasizing the role of environmental and psychosomatic factors in therapeutic effectiveness. Conclusion: Rasayana represents a multidimensional and condition-dependent therapeutic strategy integrating environmental, metabolic, and psychosomatic factors. Kutipraveshika Rasayana aligns with regenerative approaches, whereas Vatatapika Rasayana corresponds to preventive and adaptive healthcare, offering a valuable integrative model for modern medical practice.
