SHORT REVIEW ON POLMACOXIB DRUG FOR THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORY EFFECT
Pranali S. Kshirsagar*, Harshada M. Tadge*, Rahul G. Arote, Dr. Vivekanand A. Kashid
ABSTRACT In contrast to conventional NSAIDs, polmacoxib is a novel nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication (NSAID) that selectively inhibits enzymes carbonic anhydrase and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2. The formulation techniques and assessment criteria of polmacoxib tablets for anti-inflammatory action are the main topics of this review. Pre-compression and post-compression evaluation parameters are covered, along with a variety of formulation processes such wet granulation and direct compression. The study emphasizes how crucial stability, drug release properties, and excipient selection are to creating a successful oral dosage form. This drug review primarily seeks to provide a full overview of Polmacoxib, with an emphasis on its pharmacological features, clinical efficacy, safety profile, and prospective therapeutic uses. Polmacoxib's dual mechanism of action, combining selective COX.2 inhibitions with carbonic anhydrase inhibition, may contribute to its enhanced anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. Additionally, as a selective COX.2 inhibitor, it helps minimize gastrointestinal side effects commonly associated with nonselective NSAIDs. Clinical trial results indicate that Polmacoxib produces statistically and clinically substantial analgesic and impressive effects Clinical trials have shown that Polmacoxib gives significant pain reduction and functional improvement in people with osteoarthritis. This review also looks at the molecular basis of polmacoxib's activity, its pharmacokinetics, and new information from post-marketing surveillance. Keywords: Polmacoxib, NSAIDs, COX-2 inhibitor, Tablet formulation, Anti-inflammatory, Evaluation. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
