ABSTRACT

The growing demand for safe and natural cosmetic products has encouraged the development of herbal formulations with minimal side effects. The present work focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a herbal cream containing rose petal extract, which is widely known for its soothing, antioxidant, and skin-enhancing properties. Rose petals are rich in natural phytoconstituents such as flavonoids and phenolic compounds that contribute to skin nourishment and protection. In this study, rose petals were processed to obtain an extract, which was then incorporated into a suitable cream base composed of natural oils, emulsifying agents, and moisturizing ingredients. The prepared formulation was subjected to various evaluation parameters including physical appearance, pH, consistency, spreadability, and viscosity. Stability studies were also carried out under different environmental conditions to ensure the quality and durability of the product. A skin irritation test was performed to confirm the safety of the formulation for topical use.

Keywords: Herbal cream; Rose petal extract; Cosmeceutical; Skin care; Moisturizing effect; Antioxidant activity; Herbal formulation; Skin nourishment; Stability study; Natural cosmetics.
