A REVIEW - PHARMACOLOGICAL EFFECT OF EULOPHIA NUDA

ABSTRACT Eulophia nuda Lind. (Orchidaceae) is a herb that is mostly used by traditional healers in India. Eulophia nuda (commonly known as Amarkand) is a terrestrial orchid whose tubers are rich in bioactive compounds, including phenanthrenes, phenolic acids, flavonoids, and various steroidal glycosides. Eulophia nuda Lind is a safe and conventional medication that is used to cure illnesses and infection. The phytochemical makeup of this plant has not been thoroughly studied. From this plant, only a small number of substances have been identified, including phenanthrene derivatives and benzylated phenanthrene derivatives. It is widespread in central and southeast Asia. Tumors, scrofulous glands in the neck, rheumatoid arthritis, bronchitis, blood disorders, vermifuges, etc. have all been treated with E. nuda tubers. Pharmacologically, this plant has cytotoxic, antioxidant, antiglycation, and DNA-protective characteristics that are all active.
