REVIEW ON: PLANT- BASED NATURAL POLYMER EMPOLYED IN NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM AND THEIR APLLICATION
Simpi Sharma* and Kaushikee Singh
ABSTRACT Active pharmaceutical ingredient and excipient are two essential ingredients of any pharmaceutical dosage form, APIs are the responsible for main pharmacological action, where as excipient used for the manufacturing for the dosage form furthermore improve biocompatibility and physiochemical properties of the various formulation. Polymers are mainly employed for the many years along with the goal of encourage effectiveness and efficiency of the drug. Polymers play important role in the evaluation of drug release technology. Generally natural polymers used as taste making agent, rate controlling agent, protecting and stabilizing in buccal drug delivery system. In recent years, due to many complications associated with the drug release and side effect of synthetic polymer various pharmaceuticals compounds liable towards the natural polymer because there readily admissible body and highly compatible with and have less or no more side effects. The aim of this review to accommodate a critical overview of the continue research in the field of novel drug delivery system with significance of the involvement of the plant based natural polymers like, fenugreek seed mucilage, karaya gum, flaxseed mucilage, aloevera gel, inulin, rosin, hibiscus mucilage, tamarind gum and okra gum etc. Keywords: Polymers, novel drug delivery system, formulation, plant based natural Polymer.
