ABSTRACT

Coughing is an important defensive reflex and prevalent health issue, with syrups being a common over-the-counter treatment. It occurs through the stimulation of a complex reflex arc. The primary action of currently available cough suppressants (dextromethorphan, codeine) on central cough pathway.
