CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF KALA SHARIRA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO MODERN ANATOMICAL MEMBRANES
*Dr. Sinchan, Dr. Yamini M. Menon
ABSTRACT Kala is described in Ayurveda as the internal membranous structures that separate dhatus and support various physiological functions. Acharya Sushruta described seven types of Kala present in the body. These structures act as protective linings and interfaces between tissues. The present review aims to analyze the concept of Kala Sharira mentioned in classical Ayurvedic texts and correlate them with modern anatomical membranes and tissue linings. Understanding Kala Sharira helps in better interpretation of Ayurvedic anatomical concepts and their clinical relevance. Keywords: Kala Sharira, Dhatu, Ayurvedic Anatomy, Body Membranes.
