“ROLE ON MEDICINAL PLANTS IN THE MANAGEMENT OF NUTRICOSMETICS” A REVIEW
Dr. T. Uma*, Kamali S.
ABSTRACT Nutraceuticals are nutritional supplements taken orally that enhance the health of the skin, hair, and nails by integrating bioactive substances into the body. Vitamins, polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, and essential fatty acids are just a few of the potent phytochemicals that make medicinal plants attractive in nutricosmetics. These compounds promote the production of collagen, hydration of the skin, anti-aging, photoprotective, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory qualities. Modern research aims to validate the safety, efficacy, and mechanisms of action of plant-based compounds, although traditional medical systems like Ayurveda support their use. Even if the market is growing and demand is increasing worldwide, more standardized clinical research is required to ascertain the long-term effectiveness of nutricosmetics derived from plants. Skin health, anti-aging, phytochemicals, medicinal plants, bioactive compounds, antioxidants, cosmetics, herbal supplements, and beauty from within are all included in nutricosmetics.
