COMPUTER VISION SYNDROME – AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT THROUGH KRIYA-KALPA
Dr. Shabnam Verma*(BAMS), Prof. Dr. Vijayant Bhardwaj (BAMS, MS),
ABSTRACT Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a group of ocular and extra-ocular symptoms resulting from prolonged use of digital screens. Symptoms include eye strain, dryness, burning sensation, blurred vision, headache, and fatigue. Ayurveda does not describe Computer Vision Syndrome directly; however, the symptom complex closely resembles Shushkakshipaka, Abhishyanda, Timira, and Netra Shrama, predominantly involving Vata and Pitta Dohsas. Netra Kriya-Kalpa, described extensively in classical texts, offers localized, effective, and preventive management. This article highlights the Ayurvedic understanding of Computer Vision Syndrome and elaborates the role of Kriya-Kalpa procedures with proper classical references. Keywords: Computer Vision Syndrome, Kriya-Kalpa, Netra Roga, Ayurveda, Digital Eye Strain. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
