PATHYA–APATHYA IN NETRA ROGAS: AN AYURVEDIC PERSPECTIVE
Dr. Shabnam Verma*(BAMS), Prof. Dr. Vijayant Bhardwaj (BAMS, MS),
ABSTRACT Ayurveda gives prime importance to Pathya–Apathya (wholesome and unwholesome diet and lifestyle) in the prevention and management of diseases. In Netra Rogas, Pathya–Apathya plays a crucial role, as the eye is a delicate sensory organ highly susceptible to dietary and behavioral influences. Classical Ayurvedic texts emphasize that even the best medicines fail in the absence of Pathya, while proper adherence to Pathya alone can cure diseases. The present article elaborates on the concept of Pathya–Apathya in Netra Rogas with special reference to classical Ayurvedic literature. Keywords: Pathya–Apathya, Netra Rogas, Chakshushya Ahara, Shalakya Tantra. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
