THE ALCHEMICAL CATALYST: DECODING THE ROLE OF PARADA AND THE YOGAVAHI CONCEPT IN ENHANCING THE DRUG EFFICACY
Dr. Neethu K. T.*
ABSTRACT The use of highly purified and processed mercury (Shuddha Parada) is a hallmark of Rasashastra, the specialized branch of Ayurvedic pharmaceutics focusing on minerals and metals. This article reviews the traditional concept of Yogavahi, a unique property attributed to Parada and its compounds, which describes their capacity to enhance the bioavailability and therapeutic efficacy of co-administered drugs. We explore the classical interpretation of Yogavahi, the sophisticated processing techniques (Samskaras) required to achieve this state, and potential modern scientific correlations, particularly regarding nanotechnology and synergistic action. Keywords: Rasashastra, Yogavahi, Kajjali, Sindura. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
