CAUSES OF CIPA DISEASES IN PHARMACEUTICALS: AN IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS
Dr. J. Bhavani*, Mr. V. Bharathraj
ABSTRACT Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA), or Hereditary Sensory and Autonomic Neuropathy type IV (HSAN IV), is a rare genetic disorder caused by mutations in the NTRK1 gene. It leads to a complete inability to feel pain and temperature, causing patients to engage in harmful behaviors like biting themselves. Other symptoms include excessive body heat, intellectual disabilities in about half of cases, corneal ulcers, fractures, and autonomic issues. Diagnosis involves clinical assessment and genetic testing. Management includes prevention strategies to protect patients and regulate their environment. Early diagnosis is vital to avoid serious health risks. Keywords: CIPA, HSAN IV, NTRK1 gene, insensitivity to pain, anhidrosis. [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
