Sneha Kalpana is one of the most elaborately explainedpharmaceutical procedures in Sharangadhar Samhita, a 13thcenturyauthoritative compendium authored by AcharyaSharangadhara. While earlier texts like Charaka Samhita,Suśruta Samhita, and Ashtanga Hridaya describe Snehapreparations mainly in therapeutic chapters, SharangadharSamhita presents a structured, practical, and universallyapplicable methodology for preparing medicated fats, making ita cornerstone text for Ayurvedic pharmaceutics.
