A REVIEW ON COSMETIC SCIENCE FOR SKIN

ABSTRACT With products ranging from makeup to personal care items, the Indian cosmetics business has experienced substantial evolution and now serves a wide range of populations. The 1940 Drug and Cosmetics Act govern the regulatory framework, which places an emphasis on quality control through changes like the addition of Schedule-H1 and guidelines for homeopathic medications. The Act forbids the sale of counterfeit, adulterated, and mislabeled medications and specifies fines and jail time as sanctions for violations. A four-year practical experience requirement and strict guidelines for production, storage, and sales are necessary to obtain a drug license. Drug imports are permitted under certain restrictions, including licensing for particular drug classes. This all- inclusive framework ensures the safety, effectiveness, and quality of products for a growing customer base while reflecting the vibrant stage of the Indian cosmetics sector.
