THE ROLE OF GENERALITY IN ALGORITHMIC THINKING WITHIN AYURVEDA
Dr. Dharti Joshi*, Dr. Dilip Jani
ABSTRACT Generality in algorithms refers to their ability to perform effectively across a wide range of input conditions, data types, and problem scenarios beyond those used for their initial development. In the context of Ayurveda, generality signifies the adaptability of diagnostic and therapeutic decision pathways across diverse patient profiles while retaining a consistent logical framework. Ayurvedic principles - such as Prakriti, Vikriti, Desha, Kala, Agni and Bala - allow clinical reasoning to be generalized into structured algorithms that guide practitioners through universal steps, even as specific treatments are individualized. Thus, generality serves as a foundational property for designing robust Ayurvedic algorithms, ensuring both universality of approach and flexibility for personalized care. Keywords: .
