*Dr. Amruta Rahul Welde, Dr. Kiran Manoj Vaidya, Dr. Aparna Shrikrushna Patil

ABSTRACT

Background: Mukhpak (Stomatitis) is one of the most prevalent oral disorders classified under Raktpradoshaj Vyadhi in Ayurveda. Increased consumption of fast food, spicy food, fermented products, addictions, and lifestyle changes contribute significantly to Raktdushti and subsequently to Mukhpak Objective: To analyze the frequency and association of Aaharaj Raktdushti Hetus in Mukhpak patients. Methodology: A retrospective observational approach was used, analyzing patient data from completed clinical records, supported by systematic review. Results: The majority of patients demonstrated significant exposure to dietary factors such as Ati-Ushna, Tikshna, Amla, Katu, Lavana ahara, tobacco consumption, alcohol, and irregular dietary habits (Adhyashana, Ajeerna, Ati-adhyashana). Conclusion: Aaharaj hetus are major contributors to Raktdushti and thus play a critical role in the pathogenesis of Mukhpak. Nidan Parivarjana may therefore significantly prevent disease occurrence.

Keywords: Raktdushti, Mukhpak, Stomatitis, Aaharaj Hetu, Raktpradoshaj Vyadhi.
