PRELIMINARY PHYTOCHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF THIRIKADUGU URUNDAI
K. Vaishnavadevi*, R. Antony Duraichi, G. Essakky Pandian
ABSTRACT Diabetes, a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia, is a growing health concern worldwide. Siddha medicine, an ancient Indian system of medicine, offers a holistic approach to managing diabetes through natural remedies and lifestyle modifications. This study investigates the phytochemical composition of a Siddha medicinal sample and its potential therapeutic benefits in managing diabetes and oxidative stress. The phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of various bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, triterpenoids, phenols, saponins and tannins. These compounds have been associated with hypoglycemic activity. The study aims to correlate the phytochemical profile with potential therapeutic benefits, providing insights into the medicinal properties of the Siddha drug. The findings suggest that the Siddha medicinal sample may be a valuable resource for developing natural therapies for diabetes and related metabolicdisorders. Further studies are needed to validate the efficacy and safety of the Siddha drug in vivo. Keywords: . [Download Article] [Download Certifiate] |
