‘HIGH-QUALITY CONTROL OF DRUGS IN JAMMU AND KASHMIR: PROGRESS, PRACTICES, AND PERSPECTIVES

ABSTRACT Ensuring high-quality drugs is fundamental to safeguarding public health. In Jammu & Kashmir, the pharmaceutical landscape has undergone substantial scrutiny and reform in recent years. Although the region previously faced concerns related to substandard drugs, recent efforts by the Drug and Food Control Organization (DFCO), improvements in testing infrastructure, stricter regulatory enforcement, and government-backed procurement reforms have contributed to an improved drug quality assurance system. This article reviews the current status, achievements, and ongoing challenges in maintaining high-quality drug control in Jammu and Kashmir.
