*Dr. Apurva Kulkarni, Dr. Dakshata Damare, Dr. Kalpana Dhuri
ABSTRACT Obesity, termed Sthaulya in Ayurveda, has escalated into a global health crisis, acting as a precursor to numerous metabolic disorders. Traditional Ayurvedic medicine offers a holistic approach to weight management, emphasizing the correction of metabolic imbalances through herbal formulations. One such classical formulation, mentioned in the revered text Yogaratnakara, is Guduchyadi Yoga. This polyherbal compound comprises five potent medicinal herbs: Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), Musta (Cyperus rotundus), and Triphala (a combination of Amalaki - Emblica officinalis, Haritaki - Terminalia chebula, and Bibhitaki - Terminalia bellirica). This article provides a detailed drug review of Guduchyadi Yoga, meticulously examining each constituent's Ayurvedic properties, phytochemical composition, and therapeutic potential in combating obesity. Byintegrating classical Ayurvedic wisdom with evidence from modern scientific research, this review elucidates the multi-pronged mechanism through which Guduchyadi Yoga may offer a safe and effective strategy for weight management. The review highlights the formulation's role in enhancing metabolism, regulating lipid profiles, improving insulin sensitivity, and detoxifying the body, presenting it as a promising candidate for further clinical validation in the fight against obesity.
