ABSTRACT The human skin is a multilayered organ composed of many histological layers. Skin is the most accessible organ in the body. The skin of an average adult body covers an approximate surface area of two square meters and receives about one-third of the blood circulating through the body. Skin is the complex organ and allows the passage of various chemicals into and across the skin. Skin serves as the point of administration for a few systemically active drugs, the drug applied topically will be absorbed, first into the systemic circulation and then transported to target tissues.
