RECENT ADVANCES IN RASA SHASTRA RESEARCH AND STANDARDIZATION
*Dr. Shalini Jayaswal
ABSTRACT The Ayurvedic discipline of Rasa Shastra which focuses on herbo-mineral and metallic formulations, is seeing a comeback because to the standardization of its practice using contemporary scientific approaches. Rigid analytical techniques, including HPTLC, ICP MS, XRD, SEM, EDX, and zeta potential are used in recent studies for formulations such as Arogyavardhini Rasa, Shwasakasari Rasa, Panchavaktra Rasa, Yogaamruto Rasa and Agni Rasa. These studies have produced comprehensive profiles of the physicochemical characteristics, batch consistency, medicinal qualities, and chemical contents. Initiatives have also emphasized the significance of creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), which strengthen repeatability and quality control by carefully documenting ingredient proportions, processing conditions, and heating methods. These initiatives are a big step in the right direction toward balancing traditional Ayurvedic pharmaceutics withcontemporary patient safety requirements and regulatory expectations.
